NWABA breakfast raises more than $20,000

The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) raised more than $20,000 to support the organization’s programs for children, youth, adults and veterans who are blind and visually impaired during its 2015 Vision for Opportunities Fundraising Breakfast.

The event, held late last month, was presented by Riverview Community Bank.

“On behalf of our board, volunteers and staff, I would like to thank everyone who supported the event and our programs for individuals with visual impairments,” said NWABA Founder Billy Henry. “Funds will help individuals of all ages and abilities who are blind or visually impaired gain the confidence and self-esteem they need to be successful.”

NWABA is a Vancouver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides programming to more than 1,000 individuals of all ages and ability levels with visual impairments. It was formed by a group of visually impaired students in 2007 to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity.
