L&I to hold safety conference for workers in tree care industry

The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) will host a free conference in Vancouver to share information with tree care businesses about how to improve worker safety.
The conference will be held on Wednesday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 312 SE Stonemill Dr, Suite 120.

The half-day event will cover the most common causes of injuries and how to avoid them, ways to get free help with accident prevention and safety, reimbursement for the costs of light-duty work for injured workers, and other topics…

“When an industry has a high rate of injuries, it absolutely concerns us,” said Roseann Collins with the L&I Workers’ Compensation Program. “Our goal is to help these companies find ways to get their work done safely. It’s the right thing to do for their employees, and saves them lost production time and higher workers’ compensation rates.”
