Kaiser Permanente grants nearly $8K to Innovative Services NW

Innovative Services NW has received a grant of $7,997 from the Kaiser Permanente Gives – Volunteer Grant Program for its Eyesight is Essential Project.

The project allows the Vancouver-nonprofit to purchase an iScreen Vision scanner that captures a digital eye image in a fraction of a second. The scanner then generates a pass/fail report on seven common vision problems.

Offering a continuum of services including early learning, child care, and pediatric therapy for children, Innovative Services said the device allows parents to consider further vision screening for their child, through their pediatrician or ophthalmologist.

The nonprofit will be offering free screening events to the public over the next year.
