Clark County’s building industry ended 2015 with a bang. According to December figures released by the county, single-family new construction, remodeling and multi-family projects all saw major increases over the previous year.

During the month of December, the county issues 100 Single Family Residential permits – a 15 percent increase over last month’s figure and a 30 percent increase from December 2014. Overall for the year, SFR permits increased 32 percent with 1,246 permits issued.

Residential Remodeling tells a similar story. In December, 62 remodeling permits were issued – a 27 percent increase over November’s figure and 72 percent more than December 2014. For the year, remodeling permits were up 25 percent in the county.

Lastly, Clark County issued 29 multi-family (MF) permits in 2015. Just three MF permits were issued in 2014.

“These numbers are significant,” said Aaron Marvin, vice president of the Building Industry Association of Clark County and co-owner of A.C.T. Construction, in a press release. “The industry is healthy and our folks are busy creating special places for people to call home. The BIA is focused on assisting the region with solutions for workforce development and raising awareness on land supply issues. These are crucial factors for long-term housing affordability and industry stability.”
