City to celebrate businesses involved in Marine Park facelift

The city of Vancouver is inviting members of the community to recognize and thank the businesses and partners that contributed to much-needed improvements at Marine Park over the summer. A recognition event is scheduled for Friday at 12 p.m. at the Marine Park park shelter.

The Marine Park improvement project was paid for with a $50,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington. The grant was made possible thanks to a donation from the Shirley and Jim Johnson Charitable Fund. With those funds and the volunteer efforts of members from the Southwest Washington Contractors Association (SWCA), 13 picnic tables were removed and replaced, a drinking fountain was added and landscaping repairs were made in the park.

The local SWCA members contributing equipment and labor to the project were Anchor Concrete, Catworks Construction, Excavator Rental Services, Halbert Construction Services, LLC, North Fork Landscape Inc., Precision Bounding, LLC, Precision Rebar & Accessories, Inc., Stellar J, Twice the Light, Inc. and Waste Connections Inc.

Marine Park is located on Southeast Marine Park Way, off Columbia Way, just east of the Water Resources Education Center in Vancouver.
