Steiger stepping down at PeaceHealth

Nancy Steiger, chief executive of the Columbia network at PeaceHealth, has decided to leave the Vancouver-headquartered organization after nine years of service.

Steiger took on the role of chief executive in late 2015, leading a network that includes PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver and PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview.

Prior to heading up the Columbia network, Steiger spent eight years leading PeaceHealth’s Northwest network, where she oversaw the implementation of an electronic medical record system and helped to position the Columbia network for clinical integration.

PeaceHealth COO Beth O’Brien shared the news in an email to caregivers, with a message from Steiger that reads:

“After nine fulfilling years serving the mission of PeaceHealth and our communities, and with a strong new executive team in place, I’ve decided it’s the right time to consider the next chapter in my life and career. PeaceHealth will always be part of me, and it has been an honor to serve along with each of you in carrying on our mission.”

PeaceHealth COO Beth O’Brien thanked Steiger for her leadership and commitment to the organization’s mission, patients and communities.

“Nancy has been a strong leader at PeaceHealth. During her time with us, she has led two large networks and has been a mission-committed leader in promoting community and personal health,” wrote O’Brien. “Please join me in expressing appreciation for Nancy’s service and wishing her well as she pursues her next chapter.”

Steiger’s final day with PeaceHealth will be July 15. PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Chief Operating Officer Wade Hunt will serve as interim chief executive for PeaceHealth Southwest. Kirk Raboin, chief administrative officer for PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center, will report directly to O’Brien.

PeaceHealth said it plans to conduct a thorough search for a new chief executive.
