PeaceHealth names new president & CEO

PeaceHealth has named Elizabeth (Liz) Dunne, RD, MS, as its new president and chief executive officer. Effective November 1, Dunne will be responsible for all operations in the $2 billion Vancouver-headquartered system, including 10 hospitals.

Dunne is currently community CEO for Providence Health & Services South Bay, Calif., region, with direct oversight for two hospitals and six care sites in Torrance and San Pedro. She has served with Providence since 2011.

“We are blessed to have found Liz Dunne, who is a strong executive leader with a deep connection to our mission and values,” said Sister Andrea Nenzel, chair of the PeaceHealth Board. “Her breadth of experience in strategy, partnerships and engagement will accelerate our progress in this time of change.”

Prior to serving Providence, Dunne held executive officer positions with City of Hope in Duarte, Calif., and Memorial Health Services in Fountain Valley, Calif., and has worked in several other healthcare organizations throughout her career. She also served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force on active duty and 10 years in the Air Force Reserve, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. She is a registered dietitian and holds a master’s degree in business and computer resource management from Webster University, St. Louis, Mo.
