D.A. Davidson Trust Company, a Northwest-based trust and wealth management firm, has hired Molly Filbin as vice president, trust officer in Vancouver.

In her new role, Filbin is responsible for assisting clients with the development and implementation of trusts and estate plans, including long-term plan administration and integrating investment strategies. She specializes in areas of family office administration and managing clients’ probate matters, trust administration needs and tax planning.

“We are very pleased to have someone with Molly’s knowledge, experience and strong relationships join our team in Washington state,” said Art Sims, president of D.A. Davidson Trust, which has offices in 23 states. “She is the right person to lead our Vancouver office as our firm continues growing our presence in the region.”

Filbin joins D.A. Davidson Trust with experience in the financial services industry, most recently with Umpqua Bank in Vancouver, where she was a vice president and trust operations manager.

A graduate of Gonzaga University, Filbin has earned professional certifications to support her specific skills within the trust industry.

Her office is in downtown Vancouver at 703 Broadway St., Suite 103, in the M.J. Murdock Executive Plaza.

The city of Ridgefield has selected John Brooks as its new chief of police.

Brooks worked his way through the ranks from police officer to captain during his 25 years of service at Portland Police Bureau. He is a graduate of Washington State University, an FBI National Academy Graduate and has been a resident of Clark County for 15 years.

“My first priority will be to meet and establish relationships with the citizens of Ridgefield, local businesses, neighborhood groups, the men and women delivering service, and other area leaders with a desire for a safe community and a government leadership worthy of trust,” said Brooks.

Steve Stuart, Ridgefield city manager, thanked the citizens and staff who participated in the selection process and provided valuable insights in making the final hiring decision.

“Our thorough interview process and rigorous background investigation confirmed that Brooks is the right choice for Ridgefield,” said Stuart. “He has a solid law enforcement background, a high-energy engaged and collaborative leadership style and the vision to plan for the future needs of our growing city while maintaining high levels of service.”

Brooks first day with the city of Ridgefield will be Monday, October 3.

Corwin Beverage has named Chris Mayton its vice president of sales to oversee the company’s core beverage business throughout Southwest Washington.

As VP of sales, Mayton will direct a regional team to oversee sales operations, including strengthening distribution of core Corwin products such as Pepsi and Dr. Pepper lines throughout the region.

Mayton spent the past three years in Chicago as regional director with the automotive chain Pep Boys. He also has 14 years of sales and management experience with Bridgestone Retail Operations in Southwest Washington, Oregon, Northern California and Nashville, Tenn., and was an automotive instructor at a technology school in Nashville.

“Chris brings a refreshing perspective to our multi-channel, multi-product sales distribution environment as we strengthen and prepare the company for growth,” said Corwin Beverage CEO Keith Richards. “He passionately shares our view that great people are key to great service, which in turn will deliver positive business results.”

Mayton served his country for eight years in the U.S. Naval Reserves and has a degree in business administration, management and operations from Kaplan University.

LSW Architects has added Spencer Anderson to its architectural design team.

In his new position, Anderson will focus on sustainable and passive design, specifically for multi-family housing projects.

Anderson is a Certified Passive House Consultant and LEEDTM Green Associate. He holds a bachelor of environmental design degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a recent graduate from the master of architecture program at the University of Oregon.
