DAN HEIN

Dan Hein has accepted the role of PeaceHealth senior vice president and chief information officer. Hein has served as interim CIO of the Vancouver-based healthcare system since August 2014.

Hein has more than 20 years of experience in IT leadership, and has demonstrated a track record of success as well as a strong alignment with the organization’s mission and values, according to PeaceHealth officials.

As senior VP and CIO, Hein will provide executive and strategic leadership for all IST governance, infrastructure and operations functions system-wide.

“I’m honored and humbled by this opportunity,” said Hein. “I feel a sense of great excitement and optimism for our future. I’m confident in the efforts we’re undertaking to become more efficient, even as we continue to enhance the care experience of our patients. It’s a privilege to serve with my colleagues in IST and throughout PeaceHealth, and I look forward to continuing our vital work together.”

SAM KIM

Clark County has hired Sam Kim, a technology consultant and former Hewlett-Packard Co. employee, to serve as its chief information officer and director of information technology.

In his new role, Kim, a Brush Prairie resident, will guide development and implementation of short- and long-range plans for the purchase and use of technology to improve job performance and enhance delivery of Clark County services and information to the public.

“I am thrilled that Sam is joining our high-performing management team,” said County Manager Mark McCauley. “His official start-date is July 6, but he already is learning as much as he can about the county’s IT challenges and capabilities.”

Most recently, Kim has served as an IT organizational consultant to the Clark County School District in Las Vegas. For five years, he served in numerous technology leadership roles for Las Vegas-based Caesars Entertainment Corp., managing a budget of $1.2 billion for properties worldwide.

Kim held various positions at Hewlett-Packard’s Vancouver site from 1990 to 2009, where he rose from an information technology engineer to director of worldwide product development.

Dan Foster, a financial wealth advisor with Ameriprise Financial, recently earned membership in the company’s Diamond Ring Club.

Advisors earn Diamond Ring Club distinction by achieving years of consistently high performance that includes “an exceptional commitment to financial planning and superior client service.”

Less than seven percent of Ameriprise advisors have earned the Diamond Ring distinction, according to the company. Foster was one of 74 advisors to achieve this status in 2014 and joins the 626 current Diamond Ring members.

PAUL MACKAY & PETE GLOVER

Paul MackayPete GloverThe Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW) has hired Paul Mackay and Pete Glover to lead sales and operations of ReTails Thrift Stores.

In their new roles, Mackay and Glover will oversee daily operations and management of the HSSW-operated thrift superstore, which is located at 5000 East Fourth Plain Boulevard in Vancouver, as well as find new opportunities to grow revenue to support shelter operations.

Mackay, director of retail operations, managed single and multi-store operations for Nike Factory Stores and NIKETOWN flag stores. During his 18 years with Nike, his experience included chain-wide program management, store policy and procedures, process improvement and new store openings.

Glover, ReTails Thrift Store manager, has 12 years of experience in resale operations, working most recently as managing director for the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse in Oakland, CA, a role he held since 2008.

“I’m excited for the growth opportunities that Paul and Pete will bring to ReTails, our shoppers, volunteers and animals that benefit from the revenue generated by the thrift store,” said Stacey Graham, HSSW president, in a press release.
