Cranes at the Port of Vancouver

Crews work just before the lunch hour on a 200-foot-tall oil rig at Thompson Metal Fab Inc. in Vancouver. The rig will be used by a Houston-based company to drill for oil at the North Slope oil fields in Alaska.

Heavy Machinery

Rain-soaked equipment sits during a break in construction at the site of the old Mervyns at the Westfield Vancouver mall. The empty department store was demolished to make way for a new Cinetopia theater complex.

Coming Soon

Lacamas Crossing announces a handful of tenants to passing commuters at the corner of Southeast 192nd Avenue and Southeast First Street in Camas. The shopping center is anchored by a newly-opened Costco Wholesale.

Smoothing the gravel

A construction worker braves the chilly breeze while smoothing out a layer of gravel in front of the Nautilus building at 1115 Southeast 164th Avenue in Vancouver. Renovations at the site come ahead of Hewlett-Packard’s plan to relocate its Vancouver workforce there.

At the coffee shop

New logos at the Starbucks on Main Street in downtown Vancouver celebrate the Seattle-based coffee company’s 40th anniversary. Starbucks unveiled the logo earlier this week.
