nLight launches Pearl product series
Vancouver-based nLight revealed new semiconductor products in late January.
nLight launched its Pearl product series for processing low-power materials. The products can be used for industrial work, such as plastic welding and soldering. Pearl products are designed to reduce system cooling requirements and costs while boosting reliability.
The company made mode field tapers available Jan. 23, designed to interconnect dissimilar fiber geometries while increasing efficiency and preserving beam quality.
Port extends Vestas, Siemens contacts
The Port of Vancouver has extended its existing contract with Vestas Wind Systems by three years and agreed to a two-year contract with Siemens Energy. The port estimates both agreements will provide 235 jobs and $20 million in economic value to the local community. It is the only Columbia River port handling Vesta and Siemens cargo.
